There is a range of badges and awards available to young people in Scouts
Many of the badges available are activity badges, which allow Scouts to show their progress in existing pursuits, but also to try all kinds of new things and form new interests. Some of these are the staged badges which have different levels of achievement and can be progressed throughout Beavers, Cubs and Scouts
The ultimate challenge award is the Chief Scout Gold Award which can only be gained by completing all of the Challenge badges which are: Adventure, Creative, Expedition, Outdoor, Personal Challenge, Skills, Team Leader, Teamwork & World
Gaining a challenge badge involves accomplishing a number of more ambitious tasks within the Troop or community. There are several challenge badges across a number of themes, from the physical and outdoorsy to challenges dealing with the local community or issues connected with the Scouting world.
We have put together a set of information and evidence forms below for badges that can be done outside of the regular meetings.
Just print out the appropriate page and get it signed and evidenced by the leader of the activity / a parent or guardian as stated on the form.
These are an important part of the challenge badges on the path to Chief Scout gold award. Make sure you let the leaders know how you're getting on!
We had a session in January 2019 and had loads of achievements of the badge. If you got coloured in green then congratulations, if you haven't finished yet then keep going!
In our session in October 2019 we added some more Scouts challenges - just let the leaders know when you're ready to be tested!
